An Intimate Affair....

The last wedding of 2016 was a wonderfully intimate affair at Clitheroe Registry Office, in the Ribble Valley.

Helen & Oliver wanted to get married in a very quiet ceremony with just their sons and parents to share the occasion.

They wanted to capture some special moments from the day but when I met them weren't even sure whether I would agree to do just two or three hours. Of course I was happy to be there for as long as they needed me, and as I always tell couples when I meet them....  every wedding really is different and that's why I offer a truly bespoke photography.

The day was so calm and relaxed, exactly as Helen & Oliver had planned it. Instead of a traditional wedding breakfast there was a simple party at home with champagne,  beautiful flowers and an exquisite cake.

There were some very special moments like when Helen showed me an old photograph which her mother had given her that morning. It was of her grandmother on her own wedding day. The resemblance was uncanny.

I was even persuaded to join in the toast to the Bride & Groom with a glass of champagne.....sshhh, don't tell anyone! Then I left the family to enjoy the rest of the day together.

It really is true that small can be truly beautiful...x
